Challenge

GameTV is a Canadian channel that is owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. The channel primarily airs game shows, reality shows, and a variety of blockbuster movies and popular feature films. GameTV required a Fall programming promotion strategy to increase brand awareness, viewer ratings and attract a younger demographic.

Solution

After executing preliminary research, Sprout recommended a hybrid social media strategy to clearly define the channel experience through its, 8PM – Fall 2020 game show lineup. Sprout then developed the theme, tagline – #getyourGameon and all messaging and related content. Creative included image ads, video ads and all organic content. The campaign ran for three weeks on air and through all GameTV social media platforms, with specific focus on Facebook and Instagram. Results included the following:

Viewer Ratings Results 

  • All viewers – 24 hr run of schedule increase of 56% vs the same period last year
  • All viewers –¬† 27% increase vs the same 5 weeks in the 8-9pm ET time slot
  • 18-49 demographic increase of 16% vs the same 5 weeks in the 8-9pm ET slot

Ad Campaign Results

  • Impressions = 1.1M
  • Reach = 630K
  • Cost Per Result = $0.10
